52 Hymns to Learn this Year
Throughout the years I have learned how precious hymns are in family worship. It can be intimidating to sing with your family if you are not a great singer. Trust me I know! I might have taken choir in high school but I am by no means a great singer. My husband has given me permission to state that he is a horrible singer, but he sings loud! It doesn't matter how you sound when you are singing. What matters is that you are making a joyful noise to the Lord!
Have you ever heard a child sing? They have no fear. A child will belt out their favorite song while missing notes and singing the wrong words. They don't care if its perfect or how it sounds. They just love to sing! This is one of the joys we have while participating in family worship. Our husbands are teaching our children to praise the Lord in word and song. Its a wonderful and noisy thing when everyone is singing their hearts our in worship to our Lord. An intimate experience is created when we let down out guard and stop worrying about how we sound and focus instead on who we are praising.
